Welcome to Involutions of the Seashell
an epistolary exchange in celebration of Miss MacIntosh, My Darling
In March of this year, Dalkey Archive Press reissued Marguerite Young’s 1965 novel, Miss MacIntosh, My Darling. Without exaggeration (and, if anything, in a bit of understatement), Miss MacIntosh is a colossal feat of literature. In an attempt to respond to Young’s novel, a work that says, “Every heart is the other heart. Every soul is the other soul. Every face is the other face. The individual is the one illusion,” we, Lori Feathers and Anthony Garrett, are writing an ongoing collective criticism in the form of an epistolary exchange. Whether as a companion to your own reading of Marguerite Young’s magnum opus or because of an interest in contemporary literature or collective criticism, we hope you’ll join along.
Our first post will arrive on May 22, 2024.
You can purchase Miss MacIntosh, My Darling from Interabang Books, bookshop.org, or from your local independent bookstore.
